Throughout our 18 years in business we’ve conducted a number of unofficial studies concerning the value of our Diet-to-Go meals. We’ve also listened to quite a bit of customer feedback regarding the cost of our program.
Turns out that many of you believe our meals are a real value when it comes to cost!
Customers often tell us “this plan is saving me money!” This is especially true for those people who are used to dining out several times a week.
I challenge you to add up what you are currently spending on food (and don’t forget to add your jaunts to the grocery store, farmer’s market, restaurant’s meals, carry-outs, and trips to the drive-thru). I bet you’ll be surprised at how much you actually spend without even realizing it.
Just remember that Diet-to-Go meals are in place of that cost…not in addition to. We think you’ll agree that we not only feed you some of the best-tasting, healthiest food around, but we also save you money!
My personal experience happened after my second baby turned one in May. I decided it was time to kick my weight loss into gear. No more excuses about the “baby weight.” My husband agreed to support me and we committed to sticking to Diet-to-Go meals for five nights a week. He works downtown and eats lunch out, while I eat at Diet-to-Go… well, that part didn’t change.
But what did change was that my trips to the grocery store suddenly got a lot easier… and cheaper!
Since I was only shopping for the kids, food buying was suddenly a breeze. I actually enjoy getting to concentrate on what they will eat instead of being overwhelmed by also trying to plan family dinners every night. I found that I was able to cater more towards healthy foods that they would like.
And honestly, I’d rather spend my time concentrating on what my kids are eating instead of myself… which is probably what got me – and many other parents – into this position of needing to lose some weight!
Another interesting thing happened: The cost of my food bill decreased so dramatically that even shopping only for the kids, the total of my grocery bill added to the cost of our DTG dinners was $30 to $40 LESS than my total grocery bill used to be!
I freely admit I was surprised the savings turned out to be this much!
I also saved more than money. I freed up a lot of time previously spent shopping and cooking. It’s truly remarkable. I can’t say enough about how simple this has made my life. Dinners are so much less stressful and much less of a production. My husband and I really enjoy cooking for our kids first, then heating up our Diet-to-Go dinners and sitting down to eat as a family.
Oh, and I almost forgot: By adding Diet-to-Go meals into the rotation I have lost over 15 pounds! Bye-bye, baby weight!
Need more convincing? I’d like you to meet Donna. She is one of our success stories and bloggers. Check out her March 10, 2009 blog where Donna makes a mathematical case for her personal cost savings with the plan. Donna painstakingly calculated the cost of whipping up the same meals that we deliver. The price worked out to be about the same for the food, but not for the extra junk that ends up in the shopping cart. Plus, you don’t have to shop for or cook our food – and that’s a major savings in itself!
