The 5th Annual Healthy Challenge Program is over but the buzz about this amazing race for weight loss continues as winner Jen Green nosed runner-up Charles Tresky by a scant 0.1% for percentage of body weight lost!
While Red Team member Charles dropped a fantastic 56.5 pounds (a 20.7% drop in body weight), he was edged at the end by Blue Team member Jen who dropped 41 pounds for a 20.8% overall loss!
The closeness of the finish was not limited to the top slimmers on each team.
Red Team member Laura was in the thick of things, losing 45.5 pounds for a tremendous 20.6% of her body weight!
It was a closely contested challenge all the way. Charles entered the final week with a 0.1% lead over Jen but she pushed on and ended up winning by 0.06%. That number was rounded up for the final 0.1% victory.
“I am so excited to tell you... I WON!” raves Jen. “Can you believe it? I pulled it off with a 0.06% lead over Charles… It was an incredible moment!”

Since 2005 when it launched the national award-winning contest, the Gazette newspaper group has selected 10-12 men and women from its Montgomery County coverage area to get healthy, lose weight and change their lives.
Split into teams representing Upcounty and Downcounty, the contestants competed for 12 weeks to get healthy in front of the Gazette’s 275,000 readers.
